| I just looked at the December
newsletter and the Coaches Page and am impressed with such a wonderful
idea. I think it is great that we can give recognition throughout
the year to our colleagues who are in the trenches working so hard.
Along that same line, our state organization is to name a Coach of the
Year in each of the Divisions. We set this up several years ago
and are just not doing it. Our fellow colleagues in our own
schools are being named Coach of the Year in Football, Basketball,
Wrestling, Baseball, Cross-Country, Track, Volleyball, etc. and we are
just sitting here without appropriate recognition. It is not truly
important to be noted for one's work, especially when it comes from the
heart, but the publicity and school recognition among one's peers, is
not to be overlooked. Like I said earlier, I was at the state
meeting that approved of a Coach of the Year, but WE have just
overlooked doing it. Spread the word. Thanks.
